Alrighty so im quickly updating before I go to work... (What am I saying, I have 45 minutes before I have to leave... lolol).
I like talking about my con plans so, I will continue to do so here

. All this week i've been doing pretty much nothing but going to work, eating, sleeping, and prepping mainly for balticon, but side stuff for Otakon as well.
At work yesterday (because I work as a hostess at a restaurant) when things got so slow.... like one person an hour came in.... I would stand at the hostess desk and just sketch out stuff - and plan out the things I needed to go do and buy afterwork, i'm really crazy D:
I also had a really funny dream too! When I was having it, I was pretty.... pissed but anyways, I had a dream

and I had gotten a table at Otakon artist alley, and we were checking in. Originally we had gotten a good table... then they moved us to the back corner of the artist alley ... Like... not even in where the artist alley IS, like literally.... a corner in this massive room - right? right? So then we get to our "new table" and instead of it being like....XD A 6 foot long table.... It was an elementary schooler's desk. Then our "table" wasn't even on the outside of the rectangle of tables where everyone else was. No. Our table was on the inside of the outer tables. D: It's pretty funyn when I re-think about it though. XD I hope it doesn't actually happen to us!
Speaking of Otakon Artist Alley, Table Requests went up - so my friend and I both put in a request for two, so hopefully one of us will get our request filled and we can have our tables for otakon... (because we figured we only needed 2.... but we'd rather both sign up and be safe than sorry...) So wish me luck D: It can be a pretty vigerous con to try to get in too

Ugh, so on the down side? I really love making cake earrings and other sculpey earrings.... once. When I spend 5-6 hours working on sculpey charms? Usually im like "Aiight, these are enough - lets bake them and get them ready to sell..." But no. Sadly, when I baked the first batch they burnt. Usually when I just do the quick bake (Which isn't recommended, I know, but im lazy - and more on that later...) they turn out just fine but they all got scorched. Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice, so I'll probably finish making the rest of the charms today and then start firing them tomorrow.
The reason i'm so lazy when it comes to baking them is that.... *sigh* When I originally got in to sculpey, I was all excited and shit. Like, I made tons of charms (I've sold a majority of those cake earrings...awww...) and as I preheating the over to stick them in, my dad is all "what are you doing?" and im like "Oh, just about to bake these sculpey charms" and he freaks out and is all, "You cant do that! the release a toxic gas when they're baked!"
.... Yes , my dad thinks 1-inch sculpey charms will be the end of us all X'D.... because, even though its a clay thats made for kids to play with... yeah. just yeah.
So then I had to buy a 30 dollar toaster over (Thanks...dad >=/ ) and im not even allowed to bake my charms inside. I have to bake them outside, in the toaster over, on our porch.
Oh, lordy.
BACK ON SUBJECT. ALRIGHT.
SO yesterday I went shopping, and I got lots of stuff I needed. OH, HEY, BTW. I went to Micheals and then office depot yesterday.... o_O Dude, Office Depot sells ink liner pens? A LOT cheaper than micheals does. just saying C:
and I got cardstock for the little headshot commisions, badge holders so there could be something protective, I got more sculpey, stuff to make the charms in to earrings, hair clips, copic ink, etc etc. @_@ I spent about 100 dollars prepping for these cons and i'm still not done. Aye yai yai.
So I think for the headshots at the cons I'll charge like 5-6 dollars? I'm not sure, i'll be done with prisma color liners and copic marker on a 4" x 5.5" piece of cardstock. I'm not sure how much I should charge - usually when i do this with katie we charge 8 dollars (And the headshot space is even smaller..) but she includes a "badge" and its also on nicer paper which has a badge ID Tag (Like "Master Roller" and theres a picture of a katamari and then a space for your headshot).... So I don't know. is $5.00-$6.00 too cheap? I bought Badge holders at Office Depot and it was like $6.00 for 12 - which isn't cheap - so i'll probably charge an extra dollar for a badge holder? What do you guys think? I'll probably put up a poll.
Anyways I think thats it for con stuff. After work i'm going to edit this and put up a new thing im going to start to try in my journal.... which i'll explain below:

From now on I think im going to start putting up 1-2 minute videos on questions that were asked of me when I posted the tutorials that I just can't answer in writing because people need to see how its done. I'm a visual learner so, I think other people may benefit from it. With the video - i'll also take photos and be putting up more tutorials. I have a blast making them
This week i'll be addressing:

Asks " how to do ruffles and such? " (She had a longer post, I swear.)
[link]What you have to essentially do is think of yor fabric as a paper fan. You know how you fold it back and forth and each new fold goes under? and then you have a very skinny end (where the folds are) and the rest fan out to make a paper fan? It's pretty much the same thing, this is usually how I do pleats and ruffles because when you vary the size of the fold, it'll give you new things.
Anyways, i'm pretty lousy at explaining it in text...
And now, i'm done @o@
